Fabulous Friday- What's your favorite image???

This week the design team was asked to chose their favorite image and make a card using it. Well, I couldn't really decide on just one image, so selected two and did a card with both!

The first image is the door which comes in a set called Behold I Stand at the Door, the second image is the Cross and Dove.

I used my craft knife to cut the door out and placed the Cross and Dove behind the door! I was so hoping this would work and it did. The Bible verse at the bottom is also from the "Behold I Stand at the Door" set.  Since you can see the back of the door when it opens I water colored a second door, cut it out and adhered it to the inside.

Most times I have finished the inside of the card when I post it, however this time I did get it finished, so I thought I would share that as well. It's pretty simple but I think it finishes the card out nicely. The verse used here is Matthew 7:8, which is the verse that follows the verse on the front of the card. This verse was computer generated.

Sing to the Lord

 AFTER I FIXED IT!


This card started coming together very quickly until I got to the blasted ribbon. Once I got it in place around the card I added a touch of dotted adhesive in various spots to hold it in place; afterwards  when I decided I didn't really like it and wanted to remove it.  I fussed with it last night and couldn't get the adhesive off, this morning I looked at it again and decided there was just NO WAY I was going to submit this card the way it looked. So with teeth gritted I removed the ribbon, and using my trusty adhesive eraser started trying to get rid of the dot glue. Believe it or not, that stuff came off and allowed me to re-attach the ribbon in a more pleasing design. I was not happy with the original card but the re-do was great! Whew! This could have gone either way, I could have ruined hours of work but I got lucky this time!

(The whole idea was to enter the card into a couple of challenges, but until I "repaired" my mess this card was headed for the round file. Don't you just hate when that happens! All that work and it is just not acceptable!)

The Shining the Light Challenge at ODBD this time is a sketch.

The next is the SCS inspiration challenge IC227, Home Sweet ~; which is to make a card that says something about your home state, province, town or country. North Carolina is my state, and the state flower is the dogwood.

Mom's Apron Strings

I can't even believe I am posting another card today, this is definitely a new one for me!! This is the adorable apron image from Sugar Creek Hollow and my entry to Midnight Madness #48 challenge.

The cherry image is also from SCH, I took this image and made the background paper for the apron and for one of the mats, cool huh?? I really love this design for the apron, doesn't it look vintage kitchen? Peace I Give You

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, a lovely Palm Sunday and are looking forward to Holy Week. There will be many opportunities this week to ponder the coming celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, I hope we can all take time to thank God for His ultimate gift to us!

The card I am sharing tonight is from a ODBD set, Peace on Earth. There is a challenge called "Stamping In Time" that I wanted to play in; this is the set I chose to use. Challenge SNTODBD6:  "The challenge this week is to make a monochromatic card.  Choose any one color of choice along with any neutrals and go for it!"  

The layout is from Mojo Monday's sketch #132.      

This is a perfect sketch to show off this stamp set. I hope you like the way it turned out!!
