Before we get to my card let me remind you that each week the SCH blog has a challenge and you are invited to join us. Here is how it works: Each week we will choose one random winner, who will receive a free digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on their blog. If you use a Sugar Creek Hollow image you will get two entries in the random draw.
The Design Team will also choose a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will get a badge to display. One overall winner will be chosen each month from the Cards of the Week. That person will be invited to be a Guest Designer and participate in the next challenge. An image will be provided to them to work with. The Card of the Week prize will begin once we reach a minimum of 10 entries.
Ok, let me share my card with you and tell you a bit about making it.
I paper pieced the bird house with this adorable image from Graphics Fairy. I couldn't believe how perfect these love birds were for this house!! I colored the trim and hearts with watercolor pencils, used markers for depth and then added glimmer pens on top of that. I cut a mat shaped like the house and stitched with metallic gold thread, distressed the edges and inked those to help them show up better. The design paper is from K& Company and is also gold stitched with the addition of some lace on the bottom. The flower in the top corner is some of the lace stitched with little roses from Ben Franklin, a MS punch added some leaves/fronds with glitter spray. Now let's take a look at that roof!!
I water colored the roof and then I glued on some twigs, yep, I did say twigs. I cannot believe how much I loved that look, but then I thought "wouldn't it look even better if it had some leaves/fronds on it to look like thatching"? I had some dark chocolate paper that had been embossed in a Cuttlebug folder then clear embossed with gold glitter, perfect for the MS punch! Well, what do you think, does it look cool or what?
Thanks for stopping in, be sure to visit the SCH blog to see all the design team's cards and the Shoppe to pick up your freebie and to get your own bird house! I look forward to visiting your blog to see your creations!!

For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12 NLTchallenges:
