Every Saturday Sugar Creek Hollow hosts a challenge for the design team and for you the guests!
This week's challenge is on the SCH Blog and everyone is invited to enter a card "fabric, not bow". You are not required to use an image from Sugar Creek Hollow but if you do you will get two entries into the random prize draw. The winner of that draw will receive a digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on their blog. Once we reach a minimum of 10 entries, the Design Team will select a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a special badge to display on their blog. NOW GET THIS...Every month there will be a Guest Designer chosen from the Cards of the Week and that person will be invited to join the Design Team in a challenge. There are lots of reasons to enter; we can't wait to see your fabulous creations.
I found some fabric that has been around for probably 15 years tucked away in a trunk. I am a true pack rat, you just never know when you might need "that something or other that just doesn't seem right to pitch" so it's better to keep it than throw it out. really? This fabric has made at least two moves with me and I truly cannot remember why I bought it, but it was perfect for this challenge! *grin*
With some "Stiffy" and a 5"X7" piece of material I made my background for the card.
I soaked the material in Stiffy and then applied it to a piece of cardstock, making sure to smooth out the wrinkles and bubbles. When it dried it could be treated just like paper. It had adhered to the cardstock and was "stiff", I cut it to fit on my card base and from there the card was developed. This is a great way to use up scrap fabric or if you are like me save it for years and then pull it out for a challenge! LOL
The image I used is called Vintage Filigree Heart, you can get this lovely stamp by joining Sugar Creek Hollow's group over at CDAC (Crafters Digital Art Center). Now you know why I was excited when I found the long lost fabric, it's perfect, right?
Here are a couple of close up's for you:

You're right! The fabric is great. Between the patterns and lace and red trim this is just gorgeous! That vintage heart is stunning the way you've colored it.
