Name that Image and Stitching Challenge

It is another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and this week we have a wonderful challenge for you as well as the last activity in our month-long first anniversary celebration.

This week we want your help in naming this image before it goes into the Sugar Creek Hollow store. Please leave a comment here with your suggestion. Tracy, the owner of Sugar Creek Hollow will choose her favorite name. If more than one person suggests the winning name, their names will go into a random draw.  The person with the winning name will receive this stamp as their prize. You have until midnight EST on April 1st to leave your suggestion in the comment section and the winner will be announced on April 2nd.

Now let's find out who won the blog candy from me! Using the Random Generator # 13 was the winning number, that is
dj1952, a fellow North Carolinian and it seems a former Texan! Please contact me via email with all your information so I can send your goodies to you!!! Congratulations! (random number was chosen from total excluding design team members from SCH)

OK, this week we want you to make something with stitching, yep, either real or faux, your choice! I was unable to participate this week in the challenge but you can find inspiration upon inspiration at the SCH Blog where all the DT members have their art for you to see. We would love to see what you come up with!! Thanks for dropping by, I'm sorry I don't have a card to share this week, but I do have a thought to leave with you.

Lamentations 3: 24-26 NLT
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance;
therefore, I will hope in him!”
25 The Lord is good to those who depend on him,
to those who search for him.
26 So it is good to wait quietly
      for salvation from the Lord.

SCH - Handmade Flowers

This week our challenge is to make something with handmade flowers included.  Hmmm, that sounds like a reason to go googling! I wanted to try something I haven't necessarily tried before. For whatever reason I was stuck with this idea of using ribbon not paper. I found all kinds of tutorials for making flowers with ribbon, I chose two I thought I could manage, one was using a folding technique and the other a sort of a twisting technique. Mine didn't turn out nearly as beautiful as the examples but it was a learning experience! :)

Before we get into my card this week, I want to share exciting news for Sugar Creek Hollow! March is our anniversary month, we are ONE year old this month! In addition to our regular chances to win a free digi, a badge for your blog and a chance to be designer of the month, we have Anniversary Blog candy.
Be sure to go to SCH Blog to get all the details and find out all the ways you can become a winner!

For my image this week I chose one of the Insect Tiles, my choice has the butterfly on it. I used Webster's Pages digital kit called Nature's Story and yes, attached my handmade ribbon flowers.
Those cute little ribbon leaves were an after thought but I sort of like them. Here is a easy tut for them.
A closer look at the flowers and leaves.
Be sure to visit each design team member's blog, next week each one of us will have Blog Candy when we invite to join us for a blog hop! We are all listed on the side bar and you can get to each of our sites from the SCH Blog. You will have a chance to win on each stop and at the main stop, SCH's blog. You don't want to miss this, tell all your friends and let's go hopping next week!!

Thanks for stopping in, I would love to read your thoughts, hope you will join me again very, very soon!

MMSC94- Dragonfly!

Good morning, it is Tuesday and Tuesday always means Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge! Let's take a look at this weeks sketch:
You always have a choice with Priscilla's sketches, your can make it Clean and Simple, Fancy and embellished or anywhere in between! Most of mine are in the middle somewhere!

This week in celebration of spring coming, I am using Priscilla's Dragonfly. Such a lovely thought....spring! And speaking of spring, there are loads of new images at Priscillastyles store. Go and take a look, there are some priceless designs!

This week for my designer paper I have chosen to use digital Webster Pages. I thought it complimented this image and is just beautiful to work with!
I printed the image twice, the center circle is a piece of the second image that I printed, used a nestibility to cut it out and then used a cuttlebug folder on and finally inked it with distress inks. My flowers are from a stem of flowers bought at Michael's, the gold pearls are from Michael's as well.

Here is a close up:
Finally, the inside and an envelope!
Be sure to visit all the digital design teams sites to see their creations this week. You will find them listed on my side bar!  Thank you so much for stopping by, I would love to hear your thoughts on my challenge entry this week!

It's not much about winning, it's really more about picking up the pencil and letting the juices flow!  This has been so much fun, why not join in!!

SCH- Sketch Saturday!

Good morning all! I am finally able to get Blogger to cooperate and let me post!
Today at SCH we have a sketch for you to play with! Here it is, I hope you will join in and share your creations with us!

This month our hostesses have created a very clean sketch for you but you can rotate it or flip it as long as the sketch is visible in your creation.

Each week we will choose one random winner, who will receive a free digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on your blog.  If you use a Sugar Creek Hollow image you will get two entries in the random draw.  Just follow the instructions on the sidebar to link your second entry.

Each week the Design Team will choose a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will get a badge to display.  One overall winner will be chosen each month from the Cards of the Week.  That person will be invited to be a Guest Designer and participate in the next challenge.  An image will be provided to them to work with.  The Card of the Week prize will be awarded when we reach a minimum of 10 entries.

Here are several photos of my card for this week. I hope you enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed making it!

CDAC Sketch Contest - Rachael the Rabbit!

I adore sketching and doodling! When I was a little girl my Dad and I used to chose a comic from the Sunday funnies and we would each draw the same character, then Mom would have to try to figure out which one of us had drawn which character. I am sure she always knew but sometimes she would choose mine as the best drawing. Anyway, there is a digital sketch contest over at CDAC. I decide to jump in and give it a try. Here is my bunny rabbit, I think she looks like a Rachael!

What do you think? Isn't she cute?  Join us over at CDAC, it is a wonderful place to play!!
