This week our challenge is to make something with handmade flowers included. Hmmm, that sounds like a reason to go googling! I wanted to try something I haven't necessarily tried before. For whatever reason I was stuck with this idea of using ribbon not paper. I found all kinds of tutorials for making flowers with ribbon, I chose two I thought I could manage, one was using a folding technique and the other a sort of a twisting technique. Mine didn't turn out nearly as beautiful as the examples but it was a learning experience! :)
Before we get into my card this week, I want to share exciting news for Sugar Creek Hollow! March is our anniversary month, we are ONE year old this month! In addition to our regular chances to win a free digi, a badge for your blog and a chance to be designer of the month, we have Anniversary Blog candy.
Be sure to go to SCH Blog to get all the details and find out all the ways you can become a winner!
For my image this week I chose one of the Insect Tiles, my choice has the butterfly on it. I used Webster's Pages digital kit called Nature's Story and yes, attached my handmade ribbon flowers.
Those cute little ribbon leaves were an after thought but I sort of like them. Here is a easy tut for them.
A closer look at the flowers and leaves.
Be sure to visit each design team member's blog, next week each one of us will have Blog Candy when we invite to join us for a blog hop! We are all listed on the side bar and you can get to each of our sites from the SCH Blog. You will have a chance to win on each stop and at the main stop, SCH's blog. You don't want to miss this, tell all your friends and let's go hopping next week!!
Thanks for stopping in, I would love to read your thoughts, hope you will join me again very, very soon!
