Cup of Love

As Valentine's Day is almost here I was wondering what I was going to send to the grandson's. Keep in mind these two little guys have enough stuff to start their own FAO Schwartz.  While pondering this, something whispered "chocolate", well, that sounded pretty good.  I mean who doesn't love to get chocolate, right? The boys would adore getting some gooey chocolate hearts; but, my son and daughter in law, being very conscientious parents, wouldn't let Ethan and Jonas dive into a box of chocolate. I mean, come on, would you?  Maybe chocolate on a "less sugar high" level. Hmm, how about a nice cup of cocoa, maybe a few tiny little marshmellows thrown in for good measure. That sounded safe enough......Cool!
So Swiss Miss to the rescue! What kind of grandmother just sends cocoa without making it fun to receive? No me! You have probably seen this before but I have to tell you it is the first time I have done it! If those little guys enjoy their cup of hot chocolate as much as G-Mom had making it, then we have a winner! Yum! Wish I could see their adorable little faces when the "cards" arrive!
First I had to make an envelope for the Swiss Miss to go into. This paper is text weight and easy to work with; I just laid down the package of mix and folded around it to get the dimensions; cut, folded and taped.
Perfect fit! Now, we have to decorate it!

Firecracker Designs by Pamela has some adorable stamp sets and digital designs.  I used a giraffe and coffee cup (from the digital images), put the giraffe in the cup with a photo editing program and called it a Cup of Love. I just love this adorable little giraffe and it doesn't hurt that one of the grandson's favorite animal just happens to be a giraffe. Printed it out, colored it with watercolors, used some crystal glaze and a shimmer gel pen.  I am sure they will allow me some artistic license in coloring the giraffe in a more "valentine" color scheme!
What little guy wouldn't love to get this for Valentine's Day?  Heck, I would like one myself!!  Go by FCD by Pamela and check out all her goodies. She has brand new stamp sets in, digital images and lots of information for all us stampers! Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed my cocoa gift package.

That is so cute!! Can you teach my mom to send stuff like that to the kids? She loves when I make things, but otherwise thinks it "takes too much time." What am I going to do with her???
