Prisiclliastyles image - Sunflower

A very good morning to you all! This is my debut card for prisicillastyles design team and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Priscilla's designs. Today I am using the Sunflower Digi Set of 3, this is such a beautiful set, the flowers are so detailed and life like.  As with all of Priscilla's designs you will find excellence in design and versatility! I loved working with this image and tried a little something different for this post.

The "Sunflower" image is totally digitally done, those rich colors were done (using the fill command) in Paint Shop Pro and then I used crystal glaze and a Sakura glitter pen on it to enhance the richness. The rest of the card was done traditionally. I love the way this turned out!!  There were a couple of adjustment layers added before the final result; the longer I played the more amazed I became! When it reach this point I decided enough was enough and I needed to stop tweaking and accept it "just like this".  I am not a digital coloring junkie! LOL

MMSC67-Happy Halloween!

Good evening!
I think I have become addicted to the MM challenges! :) This card is for MMSC67. Let me share the sketch and then I will tell you about my card.

I used one of Sugar Creek Hollow's images for this card, Add A Face Pumpkin.  I also used the spider from Spider Web Quilt Set.  Tracy has come up with some spectacular images for this fall, you really should become a follower of SCH, you will not find better vintage images anywhere else!

If you haven't guessed already, I will be on the Design Team again for SCH but this time as a Senior Design Team member. This is such an honor and I am thrilled to get to play with these images and share them with you. If you become a follower of my blog you will get notified when new images are being shared. Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #63 (MMSC63)

It has taken me forever to make time for this card and then forever to make it! LOL I think I actually worked on this for just over 2days.  You know work on a part of it, then leave, come back and mess around a bit more on the focal image ....then leave.....then come back.....then leave.....  Finally, this morning I reached the point of putting it together and life got in my way! Can you even believe that, life stepped right up and took me away from my play time!!!  Urghhh!

 Anyone who has made any type of craft can identify with this scenario! The most important thing is that I finished it and now I am sharing it with you!  The body form image is from Priscilla Styles, it was one of the freebies on CDAC. If you haven't taken the time to check this site out you are missing some outstanding digital companies, some wonderful chatter, some amazing tutorials and a chance to share your art. In fact the rose on this card was made from a tutorial available there. This is my entry for Mojo Monday's challenge #147. The sketch this week was a great one and really worked to show off this image I found at Graphic Fairy! There is not a stamp in sight, the text is computer generated, this just doesn't happen too often with me.....no stamp! Hope you enjoy all the details, I would love to know what you think!!

Midnight Madness Challenge #62

It has been a while since I have shared a card; today I will be sharing the card I am entering in MMSC62. First here is the sketch:

You know Priscilla always has two sketches, one that's fancier with more embellies and layers; and one with less layers and etc. I chose to play with the simpler one this week.

 The bird stamp is from Delicious Doodles, this is one of the freebies given at CDAC. If you haven't made a visit yet to check it out you are missing some amazing talent from all the companies that have groups there.
I used a mailer received from Office Max to get the yellow leaves for trim, I also scanned it in so I could use the leaves with the bird image. I found some black paper that was had an almost crepe paper texture and used the Cuttlebug embossing folder with Versamark and then clear embossing powder to get the shiny look for the background paper. Since I didn't have any of the fancy shaped flouish beads I colored some pearls with a black Sharpie and made a small design myself. It's not exactly the same (LOL) but hey, you do what you have to do! *smile*

Good morning all!
Just in case you haven't heard about the new site for digital stampers it is here.  It is called Crafters Digital Art Center and is only a month old; already over a thousand members!! This was started by Priscilla, yep, the very same Priscilla of the famous Midnight Madness Challenges!

Which bring me to the card for this post.....it is for MMSC#60. Here is the sketch:

I thought it would be fun to use one of the free digitals from CDAC to enter the challenge, it just so happens that Priscilla gave a gorgeous butterfly away as a freebie.

This is just one of the amazing images that were played with in June, July promises more fun so plan on dropping in and looking around! NOW, here's the card I made with this lovely image for the MMSC!

This card has a lot of elements on it (even for me) but I think it turned out pretty cool! I really love this image and will incorporating it often! Thanks for dropping in, great to have you visit!

The design team for SCH was challenged to make a card WITHOUT using design paper. I didn't realize how much I depend on design paper, I must have reached for my paper stash 5 or 6 times while making this card. Finally I settled on using some bright colors and a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I used four of Tracy's images to make this card; the lamp, the scarf from the picnic set, the geranium from the door set and last week's freebie, Wishing you the Best. Be sure to go HERE to check out all the awesome individual images and sets available!!

Load it Up!!!

This week at SCH we were challenged to make a "loaded up" card, the actual wording is "make a card with tons of embellishments". I love embellishments but I have a hard time using a "ton" because I wind up messing up the card. We have a couple of ladies on the team that can put a bazillion embellies on and it looks just awesome but NOT me. So I played it safe and did a "ton" of layers. I think I counted 12 layers on this card, counting the popped up butterfly and flower on the balloon.

Awhile ago I received a RAK that had this adorable little girl on it and she looked "puffed out", not popped up but "puffed out"!  I have been thinking about how to accomplish that look. The balloon seemed a likely candidate to try it on since it has a rounded look to it anyway. I am not sure it "puffed" as much as I would have liked but I had a hard time keeping the sides glued down if I "puffed" it more! :) 

Here's what I did, (you all may know a better way, if so please share with me!!!) after cutting out the image I took a bone folder and while the image was in my hand or on a mouse pad I rubbed the back of it to make it sort of curve inward. When the image was curved inward enough for me I cut a piece of sponge to attach to the back and then adhered the edges directly to the paper underneath it.  Ta da it gave it a "puffed out" look! You can't see it real well in the photo but IRL it is defintely puffed!!!

Yippee, I have yet another cool technique play with. If you try this let me know I would love to see your results!

Rootin Tootin Birthday card

Good Sunday evening!
My Dad has this very dear friend who has been hauling our manure away. In the beginning he was using it to spread for his garden and for his pastures to grow hay for his cows. The time came when he really didn't need anymore but has continued to haul our never ending supply of horse manure! :) With four horses who are stabled about 10 out of 24 hours there is always a growing mound!!

His birthday is tomorrow, a big one; he will be 80 years old! I made this to wish him a happy birthday but also to include a thank you for hauling our homemade fertilizer. Since I used one of my very favorite sets (Rootin Tootin Father's Day) from SCH I decided to share it with you! I just love playing with this set, it touches my Texan heart almost as much as a big bowl of pinto beans and cornbread! Yum!!
