I love the look of using versamark and clear embossing to get a resist image. The first thing I did was to ink up the stamps I wanted to use with versamark and then the ink, I used white ink and brown ink on the different stamps. (the stamps are from Club Scrap, SU! , IBFS and Inkadinkado) After stamping your images sprinkle with clear embossing and heat set, this protects your image and you are free to then play with the background! By tearing some paper and masking off part of the image I was able to divide the background into two color sponges areas. When you are ready to do the other side, just flip you paper over and this will match your inked "line" of demarcation and you can then sponge the other side. While sponging use your imagination and add colors that are pleasing to you and will enhance your stamped image. After you have sponged and reached a desired color it is time to take a white gel pen and highlight some areas that may need to be brought forward. Now....you are ready to choose how to present your "art"!
For this I chose a beautiful brown cardstock from Club Scrap that brought out the browns in the background, used a Martha Stewart border punch to give it a soft appeal. This was mounted on more Club Scrap cardstock that seemed to be a great match for the various shades of blue, added some embellies and ribbon and the card is complete!
